Eliminate costly SNA and BUS/TAG hardware using your TCP/IP printer network.
JES Queue for Printers (JQP) delivers reports from the JES2/JES3 output queue to TCP/IP or VTAM printers. JQP delivers output directly to the TCP/IP printer using a direct/open socket, Line Printer Daemon (LPD) protocol or Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). Both IPv4 and IPv6 are supported.
JQP supports secured printer connections using the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. The printer must support TLS and have a valid certificate loaded into the printer.
The LCDS feature provides support for Xerox’s DocuPrint or DocuTech devices over TCP/IP.
JQP interfaces with Solimar Systems, Barr Systems, Rochester Software Associates and Xerox.
No JES2/JES3 definitions or changes are required.
JQP uses the information from the ROUTE PRINT, OUTPUT or DD
statements to determine the reports’ destination. Every printer in your
TCP/IP network is available for both batch and CICS (using VTAM/Virtual
Printer) reports.
An online menu interface is used to manage printers controlled by JQP. Security is available to restrict printers to the appropriate users.
JQP interfaces with MacKinney Systems product MacKinney Print
Transform (MPT) to support Advance Function Presentation (AFP) print
transforms to PCL or Postscript.
