About MacKinney Systems
MacKinney Systems overall goal is to continue to meet the needs of mainframe software customers. Platforms may change, but the needs and goals of the enterprise information systems remain essentially the same. We know your business is changing. Likewise, the platforms you use to support your customers are changing. We have no intention of abandoning you. We fully intend to continue to fill your mainframe software needs we've filled since 1980. Enterprise computing needs are our business. These needs won't disappear with the advent of new technologies. You can also visit MacKinney's website here.

Products:

CICS/AutoInstall
The AUTOINSTALL feature of CICS 1.7 and above allows for a terminal definition to be created and installed dynamically in the TCT at logon time. In turn, terminal definitions are dynamically deleted when a terminal is logged off. This can mean a reduction in virtual storage needed for the TCT if some of your terminals are not always logged on. It can also reduce the workload for the persons who manage your terminal definitions by requiring that terminals only be defined to VTAM. AUTOINSTALL creates entries dynamically resulting in less CICS down time for maintenance. MRO users need not make Remote Terminal Definitions in their MRO region.

MacKinney Batch to CICS
With MacKinney Batch to CICS (MBC) you can quickly send commands from your batch jobs to your CICS regions to coordinate file access, dynamically enable or disable programs and transactions, kick off transactions, send terminal messages and more. MacKinney Batch to CICS was redesigned from the ground up to replace the functionality of the MacKinney Systems' CICS/CEMT from Batch (CMT) product – with the vast majority of users requiring no JCL changes. Take advantage of the many new features and enhanced productivity of MacKinney Batch to CICS.

CICS/FAX
MacKinney's CICS/FAX allows you to distribute data via fax, Email message, FTP, or by copying a file to a drive connected to the CICS/Fax server (local or network drive). Email messages and files created via FTP uploads or files copied to network folders can be in plain text, Rich Text Format (RTF), and TIF (graphics) format.

CICS/Forward Recovery System
When a VSAM file is corrupted or lost you need to recover it quickly and correctly. CICS' journal facility provides the data, but it is each installation's responsibility to have computer disaster recovery plans with recovery programs for each VSAM file updated by CICS. Most installations do not do this themselves. MacKinney Systems' Forward Recovery System for CICS (CICS/FRS) fills this void.

CICS/HotPrint
If you need more control and flexibility that you are getting with the IBM screen-print, you need look no further than MacKinney Systems Hotprint.
Hotprint replaces and extends the functions of the standard IBM screen-print facility.

JES Queue Client for Printers
JES Queue for Printers(JQP) delivers reports from the JES output queue to TCP/IP or VTAM printers. JQP delivers output directly to the TCP/IP printer or a Line Printer Daemon (LPD). The LCDS feature provides JES Queue for Printers delivers reports to TCP/IP or VTAM printers.support for Xerox's DocuPrint or DocuTech devices over TCP/IP eliminating SNA hardware. Replace costly BUS/TAG printer hardware using your existing TCP/IP printer network. JES Queue for Printers will interface with Solimar Systems, Barr Systems, Rochester Software Associates and Xerox. No JES definitions or changes are required. Option to support the Rijndael encryption algorithm, Advanced Encryption Standard(AES) is available.

CICS/LogView
In the CICS message log are messages from CICS (signons and signoffs, security violations, statistics, terminal errors, transaction abends, PLI abend messages, etc.), messages from DL/1, CICS application programs and program products.

CICS/MAPR-II
MacKinney Software's CICS/MAPR II is a CICS map development product that allows screens to be designed online in CICS using an intuitive full-screen editor. Full length COBOL, PL/I, and Assembler language field names and Basic Mapping Support (BMS) field attributes can be added on the Field Definition screen. Horizontal, vertical, and/or two-dimensional arrays can be defined on the Array Definition screen. Other online CICS/MAPR II facilities include a Test function for individual maps and a Demo System for a series of related maps that allows programmers to test, prototype, and demonstrate their maps online before assembling them. A batch job is used to generate BMS source macros and COBOL, PL/I or Assembler copybooks for your maps. Another batch job can be used to convert BMS source macros from products such as SDF, SDF-II, MAPGEN, and BMS/GT to our CICS/MAPR II VSAM file.

CICS/Menu-II
CICS/Menu II gives you an easy way to present your CICS applications to your end-users without them having to memorize cryptic transaction ids. All users will see a consistent point of entry and never have to see a blank screen. Group profiles allow you to present each user with only the applications they need to see. Menus can be nested and an optional user exit allows pre-display customizing with CICS/Menu II. INPUTMSG data can be passed to applications. You can pre-check transaction security using an interface to MacKinney Systems' CICS/SignOn or your own user exit.

CICS/MESSAGE
Have you needed a way to let your CICS users know you need to shut down your system in 5 minutes? Or that you need to notify users that you need to close the master file for maintenance? Or let the staff know that the company meeting has been postponed? MacKinney Systems Message can help. With CICS/Message, messages can be up to nine 18-line screens long and can be sent to any terminal. After receiving the message the terminal operator simply presses a PF key and the original screen and transaction are fully restored.

CICS/Morning News
Morning News allows you to broadcast “news” to all or selected CICS users when they logon or sign on to CICS. News is also available throughout the day by entering a CICS transaction.

CICS/Online File Utility
CICS/On Line File Utility(OLFU) allows programmers access to records on any CICS-defined file.

CICS/QEditor
CICS/QEDITOR is an easy-to-use editor which is invoked by the application program to allow users to edit data in a temporary storage queue. When editing is complete, the queue is passed back to the program. It eliminates the need to give users access to ICCF or TSO. Full-function editing -- moves, copies, deletes, inserts, find, change, text split, text flow, etc.

CICS/QSort
CICS/QSORT is a facility for online sorting within CICS. CICS/QSORT sorts a temporary storage queue of records up to 1,000 characters. Up to ten sort fields are allowed. Queues of several thousand records can be sorted efficiently without impacting other CICS applications. The CICS application program builds the temporary storage queue and links to CICS/QSORT. CICS/QSORT sorts the records and returns to the application program which reads the sorted queue. CICS/QSORT's techniques are fully compatible with the CICS operating environment. There are no hooks into or modifications of CICS.

CICS/Response Time Monitor
Monitor all terminal response times and isolate those transactions which need attention.
Virtually no overhead. CICS Response Time Monitor uses its own data collection technique. CICS RTM does not use the CICS monitoring facility.
Great as a stand-alone or as a complement to your existing CICS monitor.
Online displays of terminal transactions showing time-of-day, response time, terminal ID, transaction ID, and operator ID.
Online displays of average response time graphically displayed for user specified intervals.
Online displays of terminal transactions that have exceeded user specified thresholds.
Online or console notification when user specified exception events are detected.
Automatically LOGS all CICS terminal transactions.
Menu and PF key driven with HELP screens throughout CICS Response Time Monitor.

CICS/SignOn
CICS/SignOn provides user authentication and transaction security for CICS without requiring application changes. MacKinney Systems CICS/SignOn provides seamless integration of CICS signon/signoff into the new CICS releases which have security removed or dramatically changed. Your existing transaction, terminal, and user security definitions can be migrated in one quick and easy step.

CICS/Spooler
CICS/Spooler is a printer terminal spooling system for CICS which improves throughput of printer oriented programs.

CICS/SPY
Save screens to a file for review and spy on 3270 terminals and HTML served out to a browser from CICS with CICS/Spy. This product is also developed by MacKinney Software.

CICS/SWAP
CICS/Swap is a facility allowing a single CICS terminal to function as up to eight logical terminals with each one running the same or different transaction.

Each terminal or user can have a unique maximum session value. Navigation between the sessions is accomplished by pressing the designated SWAP (PF/PA) key to rotate forward or backward one session at a time. You can also press the Select (PF/PA) key or type in the "SWAP" transaction to bring up the Selection Screen, from where you can directly select a session or open a new session. From the Selection Screen you can also hide low-priority sessions to make navigation between “hot” sessions easier or you can close unused sessions. SWAP keys are ignored if SWAP OFF is set for a terminal. Users can open up a specific number of sessions and override the default PF/PA keys by issuing the SWAP ON command with specific override parameters. The SWAP and Select keys can be set per user and per application.

CICS/Swap is especially helpful for DATA ENTRY screens where information from another transaction is needed to complete the current input screen. The operator can open a new session, enter the new transaction, find the needed information, and then return to the original session without leaving the terminal or having to back out of the DATA ENTRY screen.

CICS/Swap can also save time by not having to logon/logoff to exit applications. CICS/Swap is helpful in any situation where the operator needs more than one session.

CICS/TimeOut
CICS/Timeout enhances security and reduces resource consumption by automatically logging off or signing off inactive users, even those running conversational tasks. Time intervals may be specified by terminal-id, net name or USERID, so you can control how long each user has to be inactive before he is signed off or logged off. If a terminal with a conversational task is inactive, you can have CICS/Timeout abend the task before signing or logging the terminal off.

ISPF/VSAM Utility
ISPF/VSAM Utility provides on-line access (through ISPF) to the most often used VSAM functions normally done with IDCAMS batch processing: allocating (defining), renaming, copying, and deleting VSAM files. It was designed primarily for use by applications and systems programmers. IVU allows editing and browsing of VSAM and NON-VSAM files with no LRECL or file size restrictions.
